Indonesian Course / Bahasa Indonesia
PROFICIENCY LEVELS
Saka Bahasa provides seven distinct proficiency levels for learning bahasa Indonesia, aligned with the BIPA standard (Permendikbud nomor 27 tahun 2017). To determine an individual’s proficiency in Indonesian, we recommend that all learners undergo an assessment test prior before starting their studies. This is particularly important for those who have prior experience speaking Indonesian. The test results will help us identify the appropriate starting level for each learner. This assessment will be conducted during a one-hour trial class. Below is a description of each proficiency level according to Permendikbud nomor 27 tahun 2017 :
- Able to understand and use contextual expressions for self-introduction and fulfilling everyday needs and routines in simple ways, communicating effectively with cooperative partners.
- Able to simply express feelings, describe the surrounding environment, and communicate daily and routine needs.
- Capable of briefly and coherently expressing experiences, hopes, goals, and plans with internal reasons in the context of daily life and work tasks.
- Able to report observation results and express ideas on topics in their field, both concretely and abstractly, quite smoothly without hindering the interlocutor’s understanding.
- Able to understand long and complex texts and express ideas with varied viewpoints spontaneously and smoothly, with almost no problems, except in professional and academic fields.
- Able to comprehend long, complex texts with implied meanings and express deep ideas clearly, structured, systematically, and in detail, spontaneously and fluently, according to the speech situation for social and professional needs, except in complex academic fields (scientific work).
- Capable of easily understanding information in almost all fields and expressing ideas spontaneously, fluently, and precisely, distinguishing nuances of meaning, and reconstructing arguments and data in a coherent presentation.
